The Egr is a mechanical anti-pollution valve that is present in diesel and gasoline engines. Its function is to reduce the high temperatures reached in the combustion chamber and introduce the gases produced during this process (combustion) into the engine, with the aim of reducing the emission of harmful components to the external environment. This component provides the connection between the exhaust manifold and the inlet manifold. It is responsible for collecting part of the gases and re-introducing them into the cylinders to start a new cycle.
