During World War II, it shifted to producing airplanes and filming equipment. It wasn't until 1954 that Aro specialized its operations in the automotive sector. Initially, it started as a car parts manufacturer, and in 1957, it began producing automobiles.

However, the Aro brand went bankrupt in 2016 after Cross Lander, which held the majority stake in Aro, closed down.
