Aro (Auto Romania) is a Romanian manufacturer of off-road cars. Its origins trace back to 1855 when it began its operations as a paper factory. During World War II, it shifted to producing airplanes and filming equipment. It wasn't until 1954 that Aro specialized its operations in the automotive sector. Initially, it started as a car parts manufacturer, and in 1957, it began producing automobiles.

However, the Aro brand went bankrupt in 2016 after Cross Lander, which held the majority stake in Aro, closed down.
